Hard to believe, but just 15 days left in 2013, which means there is no time to waste for some serious dreaming and planning for what you would love to be, do and achieve in the coming New Year. With that in mind, I continue my 45-day run up to the New Year, by publishing my 'Best Of' columns since founding I Resolve To . . . in 2005. I Resolve To . . . Believe That Good Things Happen! (Re-Print)
Yes, good things in life do happen, but you have to truly believe. Things don't always go exactly as planned. We don't always get exactly what we want, when we want it. But wonderful things do happen each and every day, we just have to be open to the 'good' that life has to offer. We have to believe in ourselves, our gifts and dreams, and be willing to work hard to make those dreams a reality. Lord knows, it's easy to become jaded and pessimistic. Life, at times, can really wear a person down, but it also offers endless wonderful possibilities if we 'Dare To Dream' and 'Open Our Minds' to the endless possibilities.
Why not look for and recognize all the positive things that happen each day, rather than dwelling on the negative things, the annoying things, and 'yes' the painful things. A good friend of mine often says, 'let it go'. She is so wise. The first time she said that to me, I really thought about it, and agreed with her message it made so much sense. Life really is too short to dwell on all the negatives. Why not try to let them go. Replace them with hopes and dreams – believe in yourself, and the good things that can and do happen.
Why not 'give it a go' today? You don't need to wait until New Year's Day to make positive change in your life. You can pursue change and your dreams, resolutions and goals any day of the year. Why not make each and every day New Year's Day, that way you can work toward fulfilling your dreams one small positive step at a time, one day at a time – each and every day. Not only will you 'believe' that good things will happen – good thinks 'will' happen.
